Advisory for dog days

Weather forecasters on July 6 issued a yellow code advisory for dog days, with temperatures of up to 33 degrees Celsius. Specialists warn that exposure to the sun during dog days is dangerous, IPN reports.

Nighttime temperatures this week will oscillate between 17 and 22 degrees Celsius, while daytime temperatures - between 29 and 36 degrees Celsius. On July 9, the temperatures in southern Moldova will rise to 37 degrees Celsius. Heavy rain all over the country, with thunder and lightning, is forecast for the weekend.

In the July 6 meeting of officials of Chisinau services and divisions, deputy head of the Health Division Constantin Rimes said prolonged exposure to sunshine during dog days must be avoided and a larger quantity of water should be drunk. The high temperatures pose a threat to children and persons suffering from cardiovascular diseases.
