The Cabinet on June 8 approved a bill to amend and supplement a number of legal acts on alcohol control in a bid to restrict the advertising of alcoholic drinks, IPN reports.
The bill bans messages that promote alcoholic products in education institutions and medical-sanitary facilities.
Any form of publicity for alcoholic products is banned, including through radio and TV, print media, the Internet, telephones, telegraphs, cinematographic and video services, inside and outside public units of transport and on postal parcels.
The bill stipulates a series of exceptions, such as the advertising of alcoholic products through radio and TV stations between 10pm and 7am and in public areas authorized by the local public authorities during the celebration of national holidays and special events centering on the manufacture and circulation of alcoholic drinks.
