Advertisements in foreign languages will not be larger than those in Romanian

The size of external advertisements in a foreign language cannot be larger than the size of those in the Romanian language. Penalties will be imposed if this norm is violated. The lawmakers on April 5 voted a bill in this respect in the final reading. The legislative initiative was put forward by the Liberal parliamentary group, Info-Prim Neo reports. MP Valeriu Munteanu said the current linguistic norms in advertising are often ignored and some of the settlements of Moldova are full of advertisements, announcements and notices in Russian. Thus, the private individuals who will put advertisements by ignoring the linguistic norms will be fined 400 to 3 000 lei, while the legal entities – 6 000 to 10 000 lei.
