Adrian Lebedinschi renounces seat of MP

The MP of the Bloc of Communists and Socialists (BCS) Adrian Lebedinschi decided to renounce the seat of MP in favor of the seat of councilor on the Chisinau Municipal Council (CMC) IPN reports.

The MP said that for eight years he had sat in Parliament, but ran in the local elections on the ticket of the Party of Socialists so as to enter the CMC. “I go to the Chisinau Municipal Council to see the situation there. This is the reason why I ran so as to work for Chisinau,” he stated.

Adrian Lebedinschi entered the current legislature in November 2021 on the list of substitute candidates, after the seat was vacated by his party mate Igor Dodon. Now the place of Adrian Lebedinschi in the parliamentary group of the BCS is to be taken by Svetlana Popa, from the list of substitute candidates.

In the CMC, Adrian Lebedinschi will work alongside another five Socialist mates. After the November 5 local elections, the Party of Socialists gained six seats of councilor in Chisinau. The National Alternative Movement Party and the Party of Action and Solidarity got by 20 seats, the Party of Communists – two seats, while the Revival Party, the Party “Dignity and Truth Platform” and Our Party - by one seat.
