"Let's always honor the memory of the nation's heroes and carry on the values and ideals for which they sacrificed their lives," said Adrian Dupu, the secretary of state of the Department for Relations with the Republic of Moldova of the Government of Romania. The official paid tribute to the Romanian heroes at the Romanian Cemetery of Honor in Țiganca village of Cantemir district, IPN reports.
"This morning, at the Romanian Cemetery of Honor in Țiganca, I paid tribute to the Romanian heroes, who sacrificed their lives in World War II so that today we can live in democracy, speak in Romanian and enjoy freedom," stated Adrian Dupu, who is running for senator in the Romanian Parliament on behalf of the National Liberal Party for the Diaspora.
The Romanian Cemetery of Honor in Țiganca includes the graves of 1,020 Romanian heroes, who fell in the battles for the liberation of Bessarabia in June-July 1941 on the Prut line.
