Admission to universities will start on July 16
Enrolment into higher education establishments in Moldova will start on July 16. Admission to colleges started on July 1 and will continue until the end of the month, Info-Prim Neo reports, quoting the Ministry of Education and Youth. The documents for admission to vocational schools can be submitted from June 25. The admission exams for high schools will be held as from August 16.
Doina Usaci, senior consultant at the Education Ministry’s Higher and Postuniversity Education Division, said that the first university admission stage will take place between July 16 and 29. If not all the available places are filled, a new round will be organized as from August 5. The candidates are enrolled into universities on the basis of the school records.
According to the admission plan for 2008 approved by the Government, 10,758 places financed from the budget are available in state higher education institutions. Out of these, 9,893 places are for full-time education and 865 places for part-time education. 750 places are intended for the candidates from the Transnistrian region. Also, 14,602 places in state universities are on a contract basis (12,217 for full-time education and 2,385 for part-time education).
The vocational schools provide 23,010 places financed from the budget and 1,335 places under contract. The state secondary professional schools (coleges) offer 7,066 places financed from the budget, including 4,121 places in high schools and 2,945 places in lyceums. 400 places are designed for Transnistrian candidates. 5,445 places are available on a contract basis.
