Admission to universities underway. Candidates can apply exclusively online

Higher education institutions in Moldova start admission. This year, for the first time, admission will take place exclusively online, on e-admitere.gov.md platform. The platform is available from today, July 22. The first stage of admission will take place between July 22-29, and the second, to fill the available places, between August 10-14.

In an event dedicated to admission, Igor Sharov, rector of the Moldova State University (USM), said that admission to the State University of Moldova is a defining moment, full of emotions, hopes and expectations. “We are proud that you are considering the State University of Moldova to continue your education,” the rector added. At USM, students are encouraged to develop their skills, follow their passions and actively contribute to the processes in society. Here there are dedicated professors, well-structured study programs, and modern facilities.

The rector noted that USM offers students the opportunity to specialize in important areas for society, such as teaching, law, political science and administrative relations. There are also new specializations, such as: new media, game design or artificial intelligence. This year, admission will also be made to USEFS, which has become part of USM.

USM vice-rector Otilia Dandara said that this year admission is a challenge, given that it is done online. The previous years, the candidates “broke the doors”, but now the young people have technological maturity and can also capitalize on it in admission. It is a challenge for the admission committee because there will be other implications, other skills are required, especially digital.

The vice-rector noted that she is counting on the active students from faculties, who will be volunteers and will guide the candidates, will lead them to the computer rooms and will help them submit the application for admission correctly. USM wants as many candidates as possible to come to it.

The Government has recently approved the plans for admission to higher education with funding from the state budget for the 2024-2025 academic year. Moldovan universities will enroll 5,307 students in bachelor’s degrees with budget funding. 2,864 candidates will be admitted to the budget for the master’s degree, while 420 for residency and clinical secondary research. Another 106 state-budget funded places will be allocated for the admission of foreign citizens to studies. Priority will be given to citizens of Ukraine. Of the total number of budget-funded places for bachelor’s and master’s degrees, 25% will be allocated for educational sciences. 1,648 places will be allocated to candidates who will choose to study engineering and engineering activities, manufacturing technologies, architecture and construction. “It should be noted that this year we have a minimum admission grade for education sciences – 6.5,” said Minister of Education Dan Perciun. “At the same time, we will place greater emphasis on admission to the professions of the future – game design, animation and multimedia,” noted Dan Perciun.
