The authorities am to move online the admission to higher education. To achieve this objective, there was designed the concept of the unified information system “e-Admission” that will furnish information about admission to the Ministry of Education and Research and to higher educational institutions, IPN reports.
The Ministry noted that admission to universities is now a complex, nonuniform exercise for high school graduates, while the processing of applications and holding of the admission contest are a costly administrative task for universities.
The unified information system “e-Admission” will ease the admission process for all the involved players. It will manage the whole process of admitting and registering candidates, the electronic files for participation in the admission contest. It will increase the efficiency and speed of the processing of documents and will reduce the paper file storage time that is used ineffectively by candidates and members of the admission, assessment and dispute examination commissions,” says the note to the bill to introduce the information system.
The system will be implemented with funds of the Moldova Higher Education Program. Costs were estimated at US$790,483.
