Admission to Romanian universities starts July 5
For the Moldovan students, the admission campaign to the Romanian universities is due to start on July 5. Applications for Romania's high-schools will be accepted after two weeks, Info-Prim Neo reports.
According to Romania's Ministry of Education, Research and Youth, 750 pre-university scholarships are available for the Moldovan students who completed lower secondary education this year, 50 of which are reserved for the graduates from Transnistrian schools.
Concerning higher education, the Romanian government offers 601 scholarships for the graduates of Moldovan high-schools, 50 of which are set aside for the graduates from the following institutions: Alexandru cel Bun Lyceum in Bender, Lucian Blaga Lyceum in Tiraspol, Stefan cel Mare Lyceum in Grigoripol, Mihai Eminescu Lyceum in Dubasari, Evrika Lyceum in Rybnitsa, the Boarding School for Orphans in Bender, the Boarding School in Roghi, and the Corjova-based Gymnasium.
Submissions for pre-higher education are accepted both at the School County Inspectorate in the city of Iasi and the Romanian Consulate in Chisinau. Graduates from Moldovan high-schools are invited to apply at the Romanian Consulate, while the Moldovan students who graduated from Romanian pre-higher education institutions should submit their applications directly to the Romanian universities.
For post-graduate education, candidates shall submit applications to the Romanian universities and not to the Education Ministry. However, post-graduate scholarships are available only for the graduates from Romanian universities.

For the 2008/2009 academic year, the Romanian government offers the Moldovan students a total of 2,442 subsidized seats. The deadline for submissions is July 25.
