The admission to colleges, centers of excellence and vocational schools begins on July 16. An order to this effect was made by the Ministry of Education, Culture and Research, IPN reports.
Under the order, admission to colleges and centers of excellence will take place between July 16 and August 4 and the results will be published on August 7. The admission contest to fill the unoccupied places will be rerun during August 8 – 11 and the results will be announced on August 14. In vocational schools, the documents will be submitted during July 16 – August 11 and the results will be made known on August 14. The contest to fill the free places will be rerun during August 15-24 and the results will be announced on August 25.
The candidates will pay a tax to be registered for the admission contest. The children who remained without parental care are exempted from paying this tax and are provided with free accommodation in dorms during the admission period. The contest is open to graduates with secondary school certificates, baccalaureate diplomas, general secondary education certificates, lyceum education certificates and to students who didn’t complete the ninth grade, but turned 16 and have a performance certificate.
This year, 20% of the budget-funded places is intended for children with severe, accentuated and average disabilities; who remained without parental care; who have parents with severe disabilities; whose parents took part in the military conflict to defend the integrity and independence of the Republic of Moldova, the Afghanistan war or the Chernobyl cleanup; from families with four children and more who are maintained by the parents; graduates of Romanian language schools based on the left side of the Nistru; of Roma ethnicity; who did the military service, and candidates who annex the recommendation of the business entity with confirmation of the provision of an internship place and employment.
Under the state order, the secondary technical professional education institutions for the 2018-2019 academic year will enroll 7,073 candidates on budget-funded places and 680 candidates on a contract basis.
In Moldova there are 86 technical professional education institutions that include 12 centers of excellence, 32 colleges and 48 vocational schools.
