The children aged between two and four can be enrolled at kindergartens in Chisinau starting with November 2, deputy mayor Angela Cutasevici stated in the ordinary meeting of officials of municipal services, IPN reports.

Angela Cutasevici said there is only active one case of COVID-19 among children who attend the kindergartens in the municipality. As many as 163 children from eight groups are self-isolating. “Among teachers, there are 29 active cases, including 16 new cases of infection recorded by the Public Health Center. Eighteen educators quarantine. Among non-teaching staff, there are 12 active cases, five of which are new cases of infection. Thirteen non-teaching staff members quarantine. There are no preschool education institutions in quarantine,” stated the functionary.

In the 2020 – 2021 year, the municipality aims to enroll about 8,700 children aged between 2 and 4 to 346 kindergarten groups. Currently, 162 kindergartens are functional in the municipality of Chisinau. Three suburban early education institutions will reopen after the repair works are completed there.
