22,811 applications have been submitted for the 22,895 places with and without tuition fees in higher education institutions. Admission ended in 5 universities, while the second round will be organized in others. The report on admission in 2011 was presented on Friday, August 5, by Deputy Minister of Education Loretta Handrabura, Info-Prim Neo reports. The Deputy Minister stated that the biggest application per number of places ratio was registered at the Academy of Economic Studies, the State University of Medicine and Pharmaceutics “N. Testemitanu”, the State University of Moldova, the Technical University, the Police Academy “Stefan cel Mare”, the Military Academy of Armed Forces and the State University of Physical Education and Sports. In all these institutions, except USM and UTM, admission ended after the first round as all the places have been occupied. Loretta Handrabura said that the most popular faculties are Public Nutrition Technology and Management (18 applicants for one 1 place without tuition fee), Law (16 applications), Architecture, Interior Design and International Relations (13 candidates), etc. The Deputy Minister said that 2676 applications have been submitted for the 4155 places with tuition fee in private higher education institutions. The second round of admission will take place between August 6 and 11 and the results will be announced on August 12.
