This year the number of places available at vocational schools decreased by almost 1,500. A number of 9,550 students are to be admitted for being trained for the 80 types of job that are in demand on the labor market. The plan of admission to colleges and centers of excellence envisions the enrolment of 9,428 persons, which is a slight increase, IPN reports.
According to the Ministry of Education, five new trades were included in vocational schools in accordance with the labor market demand. Some 94.4% of the places at vocational schools are budget – funded, while 5.6% are on a contract basis, being based on the lyceum and secondary school studies.
Of the over 9,000 places available at colleges and centers of excellence, 46% are budget-funded. The education offer in this sector extended and includes 89 specialties, including 34 new specialties in such areas as business and administration, information and communication technology and engineering.
The documents for admission to secondary professional and vocational education institutions can be submitted in the second half of July. The exact period will be announced next week.
