The administration of the agricultural enterprise “Drebozaci” based in Drepcăuți village of Briceni district and a group of locals support the constitution of a commission that would investigate at parliamentary level the land leasing situation in the locality. They ask to also listen to their position and the investigation to be objective so that the truth comes out.
In a news conference at IPN, founding manager of “Drebozaci” SRL Vasile Shinkaryuk said they welcome the fact that the new government started to bring things in the country in order. But in the previous press conference given by locals alongside the Deputy Speaker of Parliament, there was presented incorrect information. The enterprise was accused of enjoying he protection of representatives of the Democratic Party. If it had been so, the enterprise wouldn’t have lost cases in court.
The founding manager noted that the company was at first prosperous and the people were paid salaries and rental for land. Difficulties appeared in March 2015, when the company’s accounts started to be blocked and its property was sequestrated. That period coincided with the spring sowing campaign. The actions that led to the bankruptcy of the entries were orchestrated by the mayor of the village Gennady Ioxa, who asked to sublease 900 hectares of land.
Vasile Shinkaryuk said he refused to satisfy the mayor’s request and this tried to take over the plots by influencing a part of the villagers who leased out their land to “Drebozaci”. Based on powers of attorney from several landowners, the mayor sued the enterprise and, as a result, the 900 hectares of land were sowed by third persons based on a court decision. Using falsified documents, the enterprise was also dispossessed of agricultural machinery.
Drepcăuți resident Angela Rurac, who owns two lots of land, said the nightmare began in 2015, when Gennady Ioxa came to the village, bought lots of land and then started the attacks. The people are lied to and are promised money. The local mayor’s office was simply captured and serves only the mayor. “In the news conference held yesterday, Mister Slusari (Deputy Parliament Speaker Alexandru Slusari, e.n.) said that this is outrageous. This is so indeed. We have struggled with this beast or cancer for four years. He is the cancer of Briceni district. He remains in the shadow yet and does not show up,” stated the woman, noting he is hiding behind people who don’t even know what to ask. When this mayor took over, the locals separated into “outs and yours”.
Local Ala Proca said she was a member of the electoral bureau and saw a lot of injustice and pressure on behalf of the mayor. This even resorted to physical abuse, breaking the nose of a local, but was only fined for this.
