In connection with the snap parliamentary elections of July 11, 2021, the Association for Participatory Democracy ADEPT launches a campaign to inform and sensitize the people so that they report electoral illegalities. The Association made an explanatory video about the most frequent types of electoral violations that can take place during the election campaign and how these can be reported to the electoral bodies, the police or the prosecution service, IPN reports.
The persons can report cases of voter corruption by offering of money or goods, use of administrative resources in favor of an election contender, organized transportation of voters or involvement of religious denominations in the election campaign. They must take a picture or make a video/audio recording. The next step is to complete the suitable model from the list of models of thematic notifications accessible in the section “Electoral Notices” on www.alegeri.md, according to the instructions available in each document, and to send this to the electoral bodies and the law enforcement agencies indicated in each form.
The citizens can choose an easier model of reporting electoral irregularities. Those who were witness to fraud or violations in the electoral process can access the button “Signal Violation” on the aforementioned website and fill in a form by attaching evidence. The information will be sent to the address of ADEPT, which will remit it to the competent bodies by indicating the email address of the author in the copy.
ADEPT cannot solve the signaled problems. It offers only consultative assistance to the voters. The campaign to inform and sensitize the people so that they report electoral illegalities is carried out in the framework of the project “Snap parliamentary elections 2021: informing voters, increasing conscious participation” that is supported by Soros Foundation Moldova.
