Additional measures to bring vocational education closer to labor market demand

The Cabinet carried a bill on sector professional formation committees in a move to promote the optimization of cooperation between employees and employers and develop technical vocational education according to the labor market necessities, IPN reports.

The sector committees could be created by employer and trade union organizations to develop social partnerships with a view to supporting the technical vocational education and the continuous formation of specialists and to correlating the professional formation of employees with the labor market demand. These will be able to initiate, coordinate and take part in the formulation of occupational standards for technical vocational education.

The new entities will take part in the working out of the National Qualifications Framework, will endorse curricula and will formulate proposals for updating the Occupations Register of Moldova. Also, all the draft regulations that govern the continuous formation and technical vocational education will be mandatorily consulted with sector committees.

The document is to be examined and adopted by Parliament.
