The municipality will allocate 8.3 million lei for repairing and reopening groups in early education institutions in Chisinau, in addition to the 57.4 million lei earmarked in the 2018 budget for capital investments in kindergartens, IPN reports.

According to acting mayor of Chisinau Ruslan Codreanu, repair works this year were performed in 110 kindergartens. 7.8 million lei was invested in current repair works. Nine kindergartens benefitted from financial support from the Moldova Social Investment Fund.

Eleven groups will be reopened by September 1. The works to illuminate the territories adjoining kindergartens will be  continued.

In some of the education institutions, the repair works will not be finished by the start of the new school year. The head of the General Division of Education, Youth and Sport Rodica Gutu said the works started later owing to the delay in the public procurement procedures. Even so, all the schools will be opened on time.

The gymnasium of the Theoretical Lyceum “Vasile Alecsandri” continues to be repaired. As long as the weather is favorable, the physical education lessons will take place outside. The repair works at the eatery of the Lyceum of the Children’s Academy go on. Until these are completed, the students will receive food in a parcel, stated Rodica Gutu.
