The Committee of the National Resistance Movement ACUM calls on the public TV channel Moldova 1 to broadly and objectively cover the protest that will be mounted in the Great National Assembly Square of Chisinau on August 26, IPN reports. The request was transmitted after a news conference held in front of the building of the TV channel.
The leader of the Party “Platform Dignity and Truth” Andrei Năstase read a statement according to which TV Moldova 1 turned into the mouthpiece of the ”anti-popular” government even if it is paid by the citizens. Moldova 1 became a pocket institution of the Democratic leader Vlad Plahotniuc. The talks shows and news bulletins are produced so as to give the impression that there is no opposition in Moldova or that this is not so numerous and does not enjoy the support of society.
“We demand that the affiliated administration of the public TV channel Moldova 1 should stop to present exclusively the will of the “anti-popular” government and should offer airtime to the anti-oligarchic opposition without delay,” stated Andrei Năstase.
The leader of the Party “Action and Solidarity” Maia Sandu said they were informed by the General Police Inspectorate that a criminal case was started on August 21 over reasonable suspicions about the planning of public disorder. She noted that the current government recruits aggressive persons under the shield of the law enforcement agencies who are sent to their protests to abuse the persons who seek rights.
“We remind the state institutions that they receive money from the people’s pockets to maintain public order and this is their responsibility,” stated the politician.
According to the leader of the Liberal Democratic Party of Moldova Viorel Cibotaru, August 26 is a day when they will speak about the problems faced today by the Republic of Moldova. On August 27, when the people should celebrate the events of 1991, they will protest against the government’s acts.
