ACUM MPs propose PSRM to vote on Prosecutor's Office Law in two readings in Parliament

ACUM bloc has proposed the PSRM and President Igor Dodon, in order to get out of the "crisis", to vote in Parliament, in two readings, the amendments to the Law on the Prosecutor's Office, based on the formula for which the Government assumed responsibility. The statement was made by the PPPDA vice-chairman, Alexandru Slusari, at a press conference.

He says that, during discussions with Igor Dodon, PAS and PPPDA members have reiterated how important the justice reform is, because without it, the rest is meaningless. "We want to keep the majority, but not at any price," stressed Alexandru Slusari.

Secretary General of PAS, Igor Grosu, mentioned that the talks with the PSRM took place "calmly and things that had not been said for a long time were tackled". Igor Grosu believes that no reform in the economy or in the social field will be successful unless a real reform in the field of justice is made. And there's no room for expectations.

"We understand the frustrations of all sides, which is why we came up with a compromise situation. He told them to go back to the Parliament to vote, "said Igor Grosu. According to him, "everyone can control the process" of appointing the prosecutor general, because the prime minister will propose to the CSP a list to choose from, and the president is the last actor to sign for the prosecutor general.

In other news, Igor Grosu has noted that Andrei Năstase does not aspire to the position of Prosecutor General and this is not legally possible.
