ACUM Bloc and PDM cannot form a Government, opinion

Journalist Valerii Demidetskii said the blocking of the Parliament’s rostrum is a normal reaction of the opposition, while the ACUM Bloc cannot form a Government with the Democratic Party (PDM). The issues were developed in the talk show “Key Issue” on NTV Moldova channel, IPN reports.

Valerii Demidetskii said the blocking of the Parliament’s rostrum is an absolutely normal reaction of the opposition and this was rather predictable. “What does the opposition exist for? The legislation was designed so that the Government’s dismissal undoubtedly leads to snap parliamentary elections. The ACUM Bloc and the PDM cannot form a Government as the President proposes a candidate for premiership and Igor Dodon will twice suggest Ion Chicu,” stated the journalist.

According to him, de facto no one wants to lose the seat of MP as the PDM in case of snap elections would no more gain 30 seats, if only several. “No one wants to lose the seat, but it is normal that they make noise,” explained Valery Demidetskii. He noted the Socialists could accept the variant of snap elections as they would get a much better score in these than in the previous elections, as the Shor Party could.

Political commentator Roman Mihăeș said the ACUM Bloc and the Democratic Party pursue the same goals – to remove the Government led by Ion Chicu and to also provoke snap parliamentary elections and try to strengthen their positions in Parliament.

“The ACUM Bloc and the PDM no longer promote this “media war”. They all united against the Socialists, against Chicu. Their “sponsor” will find places for each of these,” stated Roman Mihăeș.

On February 21, the PAS and PPPDA MPs blocked the rostrum in protest at the ignoring of the motion against the activity of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration and at the fact that Minister Aureliu Ciocoi didn’t present himself at the Parliament sitting. The MPs also expressed their dissatisfaction with Premier Chicu’s intention to present his report in Parliament without informing them about this beforehand.
