Activity of Communists’ Party in Moldova is illegal – opposition MP
The Communists’ Party of the Republic of Moldova (CPRM) activates illegally in Moldova, so that this country is leaded by an illegal party, Vitalia Pavlicenco, the MP of “Moldova Noastra” Alliance declared on Thursday, July 27.
According to her, on August 23, 1991, the Presidium of the Parliament of the Republic of Moldova approved a decision “on the Communist Party of Moldova”, which prohibited the activity of this party on the whole territory of the country. In 1993, the Parliament adopted another decision, according to which “the citizens of Moldova have the right to join the communist party according to the provisions of the Law on parties and other social-political organizations in equal legal conditions as other parties and social-political organizations”.
The document stipulated that “the present decision comes into effect when published”. However, according to the MP of MNA, the aforementioned decision was not published in the official press and so it did not come into effect. Therefore the decision that prohibits the activity of CPRM is still in force.
In this context, Pavlicenco ascertained that the Republic of Moldova is leaded by an illegal party. She solicited the Ministry of Justice and the General Prosecution Office to declare their objective opinion concerning this situation and to cancel the registration of the Communists’ Party and of other communist parties.
