A number of winter activities to promote a healthy living are taking place today in the Great Assembly Square as part of a campaign carried out by the National Health Insurance Company (CNAM) and the Ministry of Health during September 2014 – January 2015.

Until late into the night, the public present in Chisinau's central plaza will have the opportunity to make snowmen, to watch an artistic skating performance and a hokey game, and participate in various competitions, like a snowball throwing contest and a relay race with mandarin oranges. The organizers will provide the snow.

CNAM spokesperson Silvia Munteanu has told IPN the organizers will hand out tickets for the skating rink installed in the Square. Such tickets will be also given as prizes in healthy lifestyle contests at radio stations.

The public in the Square will have the occasion to watch a show of winter clothes and gear. A tombola will also be held which will give bicycles to two lucky winners.

The activities will culminate with a concert featuring Maria Iliut, Alexandru Manciu, Adrian Ursu and the bands Crenguta de Iedera, Lollipops” etc.

Under the campaign, those interested will be able to skate for free during one hour to be fixed in the first party of the day from December 27 to January 14.
