Activities to employ persons with disabilities awarded

Five persons with special needs who managed to find a job despite disability and five employers who hired persons with disabilities were awarded at the third Remarkability Gala held in the evening of December 5, IPN reports.

The award for reasonable adjustment of the workplace to the condition of persons with disabilities was conferred on the company “McDonald's”, which employed four persons with special needs. These have shorter working houses and longer leave and meal, tea and coffee breaks than the other employees. The awards for hiring persons with disabilities by supported employment went to the firm “Frunctul” of Truseni commune of Chisinau municipality and “Oil Tech” of Chisinau. These companies employed by three persons with special needs.

The trophies in the category “Remarkable employer who hired largest number of persons with special needs” were given to “Moldretail”, which runs the market chain “Linella”, and to “HR-Consulting”. The given companies hired six and, respectively, two persons with disabilities. The Ministry of Health, Labor and Social Protection offered trophies to five persons with special needs who managed to find a job in spite of their disabilities. These are: Andrei Malanca, Dumitru Focsa, Ion Cuchulevschi, Ludmila Ababii and Galina Bezveshnicov.

“The activities performed by those who won these prizes motivate other employees to act similarly and encourage persons with disabilities to be more active on the labor market. Together we can succeed. We can be solidary with persons with special needs and can combine forces,” Minister of Health, Labor and Social Protection Stela Grigoras said in the award ceremony.

“The goal of the contest is to promote the employment of persons with disabilities and to appreciate the aptitudes of these persons with special needs. With or without disability, we are all members of the same community, with the same rights and obligations,” said Vitalie Mester, executive director of the Center for Legal Assistance for Persons with Disabilities.

The Remarkability Gala 2017 was organized by the Center for Legal Assistance for Persons with Disabilities under the aegis of the Ministry of Health, Labor and Social Protection, in partnership with the Association “Motivatie”, Alliance of Organizations for People with Disabilities, Eco-Rezeni Association, Youth Media Center and National Employment Agency, with financial support from the Representative Office of IM Swedish Development Partner, Federal Ministry of Labor, Social Affairs and Consumer Protection of Austria and the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights.
