The citizens are urged to take part in the cleanup of the beds and areas near the Byk River and other rivers as part of a cleanup campaign that will be carried out by the General Public Amenities Division and the Chisinau City Hall on March 16. The volunteers will be offered gloves and sacks for collecting waste, IPN reports.

According to the head of the General Public Amenities Division Ion Burdiumov, the campaign covers the rivulets Durlești, Malina Mică, Țiganca, Valea Trandafirilor and others. The activities are performed as part of the general spring cleanup and in connection with World Water Day that is celebrated on March 22. All those who want are invited to take part, especially the inhabitants of the municipality of Chisinau and employees of municipal enterprises.

The cleanup campaign will start at 9am. Details about the organization points and contact persons can be found on the Division’s Facebook page.

The general spring cleanup is carried out between March 4 and April 26. Also, the General Public Amenities Division on March 30 will organize a tree planting event in concert with the public association “Parks of the Future”. About 10,000 trees are planned to be planted as part of the event. The general park cleanup was scheduled for April 13, while the general cleanup in yards of apartment buildings for April 20.
