A number of nongovernmental organizations and political parties will organize events dedicated to the Victory Day and Europe Day in Chisinau on May 9, IPN reports.
At 8:30am, members and sympathizers of the Party of Communists will take part in the Victory March to the memorial complex “Eternity”. The column will set off from the Triumphal Arch. At 4pm, the visitors will be able to taste soldier’s porridge in the Public Garden “Stefan cel Mare”.
A march to the Memorial Complex “Eternity” will be mounted by the Veterans Organization of Moldova, but the hour hasn’t been yet set.
The Party of Socialists will take part in the activities of the National Organizational Committee “Victoria” dedicated to the Great Patriotic War. It will also stage a Victory March to the Memorial Complex “Eternity” entitled “Undying regiment”, starting at 9:30am on May 9.
Members of the Organization “Honor, Dignity and Homeland” will promote the tricolor, the Romanian language and Moldova’s union with Romania in the central park of Chisinau, in the square of the central store UNIC, in front of the Central Post Office, at the Memorial Complex “Eternity” and in the “Afghan Park”. The Liberal Party will hold a demonstration in front of the National Opera House and in the Great National Assembly Square.
The Democratic Party will stage activities to inform the residents about the advantages of the modification of the electoral system to introduce the uninominal voting system in all the districts of Chisinau. It will also organize a May 9 concert in central Chisinau between 10am and 11pm.
The public organization “Russian Historical-Patriotic Club” will mount an exhibition of photographs dedicated to the 72nd anniversary of the victory over fascism near the monument to ruler Stephan the Great and Holy.
The National Library will hold the final stage of the National Contest “Europe at Home” at midday. The seventh International Festival “Bach in the City” will be staged by the Organ Hall and the Cultural Foundation J.S. Bach at the National Museum of Arts in the evening of May 9, starting at 6:30pm. This will involve accordionists of Concertino. The big hall of the National Philharmonic “Sergey Lukevich” will host a concert on Europe Day entitled “De la Rococo la Tango”, starting at 6pm.
