The Unionist Movement "Sfatul Țării 2" invites on Sunday, December 1, everyone with a Romanian heart to the „Ginta Latină” Theater in the capital, starting at 12:00, for a series of activities dedicated to the National Day of Romania. The chairman of the movement, the writer Nicolae Dabija, said at an IPN press conference, that distinguished political and cultural personalities from the Republic of Moldova and Romania were invited to participate in the activity.
Nicolae Dabija said that the event will take place under the sign of strengthening the unifying pro-European, democratic forces from Moldova. According to the writer, there must be a distinction between unionists and unifiers, due to the occurring perception that unionists are the ones who only tend to talk about unification, while doing next to nothing in order to make it happen. "It's time for the unifiers. It is the time for action: two states a single nation, the same law", said Nicolae Dabija.
The mayor of the village of Ruseștii Noi, Ialoveni district, Valentina Meşina, said that she won the mayoral term after converting from a unionist to a unifier. She holds dear everything that is Romanian and is totally supported by village residents in regard to activities dedicated to the quickest accomplishment of the reunion of Bessarabia with Romania.
Alecu Reniţă, first Parliament MP, said that December 1st is an exhortation for Bessarabians to do what our ancestors did, the unity generation from the Sfatul Țării. The December 1 event will be more than just a meeting, it will be a moment when Moldovan citizens will be told that their place is home, while home was always Romania, said Alecu Reniţă.
Ghenadie Cosovan, "Credință Patriei" Association chair, said that on December 1, he experiences contradictory feelings every time. On the one hand, he enjoys the heroism that the ancestors showed when they achieved the great union. On the other hand, there is a feeling of shame "because today everything is concessioned to hostile Russian forces".
"We must get out of this totalitarian impasse implemented over the course of three centuries. We are trampled and robbed from all points of view", said Dumitru Munteanu, a resident of Temeleuți village, Călărași district.
The leader of the Political Party "Democrația Acasă", Vasile Costiuc, said that "in Bessarabia there is enough potential to trigger the process of reunification, reintegration and elimination of the Prut border". He added that "the young generation of today, educated and raised by the elders, is morally and spiritually prepared to carry the flag and fulfill this holy ideal."
