Activities dedicated to Grandmother’s Day will be organized in schools and kindergartens next week
The holiday My Grandmother will be celebrated in the preuniversity, preschool and out-of-school education institutions of Moldova between September 24 and 28.
According to Deputy Minister of Education Valentin Crudu, all the school, lyceum and nursery heads of the country were recommended to organize activities to celebrate the holiday My Grandmother in the context of the National Grandmother’s Day.
The Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports said that the activities should be organized out of classes and they should not exceed 1 – 1.5 astronomic hours. The programmes will contain references to the role and value of the grandmother in the family, in life and in educating the grandchildren; messages of gratitude, love and reverence, wishes of long life and health for grandmothers.
The Ministry proposed designating winners in different categories such as: grandmother-mothers with many children, the grandmothers with many grandchildren, the housewife grandmothers, the grandmothers – honorary personalities, the long-living grandmothers, the grandmothers with remarkable professional merits etc.
The Ministry also suggested organizing matinees, oral magazines, imaginary travels, poetical moments, theatre spectacles, evening sittings, exhibitions of decorative-artistic works, class master hours, voluntariate activities etc.
A festive programme dedicated to the National Grandmother’s Day will be organized at the National Palace on September 29. The holiday was instituted by a recent Government Decision, which says that the National Grandmother’s Day will be celebrated each year on the last Saturday of September with the aim of promoting the model of traditional family and the national traditions, stimulating the interest in the people’s spiritual values and harmonizing the relations between the generations.
Last year, the grandmother’s holiday was celebrated as a trial on the initiative of the First Lady Taisia Voronin.
