Activists demand to annul restrictive measures imposed in connection with COVID-19

A number of activists sent a letter to the Government and Parliament, demanding that the restrictions imposed to stop the spread of COVID-19 should be annulled. They seek the elimination of the obligation to wear masks in open public spaces and in rooms, including at school. The signatories say the wearing of masks should be optional and demand that guarantees that the citizens will not be obliged to vaccinate against COVID-19 should be provided.

In a news conference at IPN, Alexandru Covalschi, of the public association “Planeta Curată” (“Clean Planet”), said the mass media hyperbolize everything that is related to this infection. The people became ill and died before the pandemic too and the number of deaths wasn’t lower. The WHO recommendations for treating this infection turned out to be erroneous as regards the necessary drugs and doses.

Alexandru Covalschi criticized the authorities’ decision concerning distance learning, saying this did harm to students. The authorities are requested to stop the discrimination of unvaccinated children, who are not admitted to kindergartens and schools. Owing to the pandemic, a number of companies went bankrupt, many people lost their job and this generated stress and disease, while the authorities were unable to support the families with compensations.

Sergey Badan, activist of the Independent Training Center, questioned the efficiency of COVID-19 vaccines, noting the effects are not known, including the side effects, in the long run. The authorities should offer guarantees that vaccination will not be mandatory, while the people who will be immunized should be honestly informed about the risks.

Another participant in the conference, Vitalie Ceban, spoke about the obligation to wear masks in closed and open public places. He said there are no studies showing that the wearing of masks diminishes the infection risk. Instead, there are cases when those who wore masks became infected. A study conducted in Denmark shows the recommendation to wear masks didn’t reduce the viral infection. The obligation to wear masks was introduced primarily for political reasons.

The letter formulated by the activists can be signed online.
