The chairman of the public association “Moldova Mea” Fiodor Ghelici called upon President Igor Dodon to take urgent measures to help people in need from villages or he will take to the streets together with them as of June 1 to seek the resignation of the Head of State.
In a news conference at IPN, the activist said that during a year in office Igor Dodon hasn’t delivered on his promises made in the election campaign. Socially deprived people come to the association “Moldova Mea” that he heads and complain that they do not have a job and the social welfare they get is not enough even for medicines. The number of rural schools has declined drastically, while those that remained do not provide conditions appropriate to an education institution.
A number of women who took part in the news conference alongside Fiodor Ghelici said that they voted for Igor Dodon because he promised higher salaries, jobs and better living conditions, but nothing has changed and the people are more decided to leave the country.
Olga Ursu cares for a minor child and for a parent with disability. She said she believed in Igor Dodon’s promises, but gained nothing.
Elena Ungureanu raises two minor children. Her husband has health problems. The family does not have a place to stay and does not receive social welfare. The woman said her requests for assistance to the authorities were all rejected.
Aurelia Marulea also has two minor children. She lost a parent in a fire that destroyed their house and in which one of the children suffered serious burns. The family lives in rented housing, but has to leave the house in March as this was provided on a temporary basis.
Fiodor Ghelici said Igor Dodon should react and should not leave these people without aid. They already started to lose confidence in the President of Moldova.
