The actions of the three leaders of the protesting people at the national TV channel “Moldova 1” are condemnable. The issue was discussed in the program “Place for dialogue” on “Radio Moldova” station, IPN reports.
Ex-head of the Broadcasting Coordination Council Marian Pocaznoi considers protesters’ leaders exceeded the legal limits when they interrupted a program and asked for live broadcasting. “The Broadcasting Code, which was subject to a number of appraisals, does not allow interfering in the editorial policy of an audiovisual institution. There were a number of reports showing that the public TV channel has a balanced editorial policy. This is a condemnable gesture. I hope civil society will analyze this case,” he stated.
Law expert Vitali Catana condemned the actions of the three leaders of the protesting groups. “We all enjoy the freedom of expression, but all the actions should be within the law. They justify their illegal acts by the fact that they represent the people. But 10,000 people who are noisier do not mean the whole population. By their actions, Igor Dodon, Renato Usatyi and Andrei Nastase are trying to help others to avoid responsibility,” he said.
