The Cabinet approved the action plan on road safety for 2020-2021. Among the planned 48 measures are information campaigns, legislation improvement proposals and initiatives to ensure cooperation between the road safety commissions of all the territorial-administrative units. Other measures are aimed at outfitting the emergency medical services with extrication equipment and strengthening their capacities so as to ensure post-trauma services of a high quality, IPN reports.

In the meeting of the Cabinet, it was noted that the number of vehicles damaged in road accidents and of accidents with serious consequences that leave persons injured and, as a result, unable to work, increased considerably during the past few years.

The authorities undertook to create a database of the road sectors with an increased risk of accidents. There will be built tracks for motorcyclists and implemented educative programs on the traffic rules in education institutions.
