Acting president endorses €10m loan agreement with EIB
Moldova's acting President Marian Lupu on Monday, February 28, promulgated the Law on the ratification of the loan agreement between Moldova and the European Investment Bank in support of the Water Utilities Development Program. The law was adopted by Parliament on February 11, Info-Prim Neo reports.
Under the agreement, Moldova will receive a €10 million loan from the European Investment Bank for a period of 25 years, with a grace period of 5 years. The interest rate is going to be determined separately for each installment.
The EIB's funds will be used to improve water provision services in the towns of Floresti, Soroca, Hancesti, Ceadyr-Lunga, Orhei and Leova and in the surrounding settlements. The money will be granted by the Ministry of Finance to the respective district councils and to the Gagauz Autonomy.
