Vitalie Timotin has been appointed acting head of the National Public Security Inspectorate (INSP) following Constantin Țurcanu’s dismissal. The orders were signed by Interior Minister Ana Revenco.
“The officers of the National Public Security Inspectorate interact with people every day. The degree of trust that civilians will have towards all MoI officers depends on their professionalism and integrity. It is a difficult period of transition from toxic practices and habits to a dignified police who can offer people security and order, and only honest and professional people can be their leaders”, declared Ana Revenco.
The Ministry said in a press release that a number of INSP patrol officers have been arrested on suspicion of facilitating contraband.
