The chestnuts trees from many zones of the capital are sick. Their crowns got yellow too early and thousands of moths attacked them. The phenomenon was remarked at the working meeting of the City Hall on Monday, 14 August, by the interim mayor Vasile Ursu. He said that the moths’ swarms affecting the chestnut trees on the Belinski Street’s alley trouble the inhabitants of the zone, one of which is the interim. Ursu demanded the deputy head of the Green Spaces Management Association, Eliferie Haruta, to kill the moths. Eliferie Haruta announced that the abundant rains, containing high acid concentration, as well as the high temperatures caused the appearance of months and chestnut trees sickness.
