Achievements and prospects in EU-Moldova relations illustrated at photo exhibition

The achievements and prospects in the relations between the European Union and the Republic of Moldova are presented at a photo exhibition inaugurated in Chisinau on April 30. The exhibition illustrates major activities of the EU projects in Moldova and is dedicated to the Europe Day, marked in Moldova on May 8, Info-Prim Neo reports, quoting the organizers. Ambassador Cesare De Montis, Head of European Commission Delegation to Moldova, said that the images of this exhibition complement and show the EU’s openness and readiness to support Moldovan people in achieving a better and safer life. The program of the Europe Day aims at increasing public awareness about the European Union and its assistance to the Republic of Moldova, the Head of the EC Delegation to Moldova said. The celebration activities of the Europe Day started in February through competitions in over 150 educational establishments from Chisinau, Cahul and Balti which value young people’s skills in poetry, essay, drawing, design, and general knowledge about the European Union history and institutions. The Europe Trophies will be awarded during the Europe Awards Gala, on May 8 in Chisinau, at Mihai Eminescu Theatre. According to the first secretary of the CE Delegation to Moldova Paolo Berizzi, the EU has provided assistance to Moldova worth 400 million euros during 1991-2007. The inauguration event organized by the European Commission Delegation to Moldova takes place at “EuroFotoArt” Hall and will be open to the public until May 16.
