The accomplices in the murder committed in the center of Chisinau on September 19 were arrested, while the author was identified, Prime Minister Vlad Filat said in the program “In Profunzime” on Pro TV channel. He confirmed that the crime was allegedly committed by ex-world kickboxing champion Ion Sholtoianu, Info-Prim Neo reports. “I want to say that prompt and expert action was taken. The author of the crime was identified and the accomplices were arrested. This is not only a regrettable case. It is a horrible murder given the person who supposedly committed it,” said Vlad Filat. He also said that 20 minutes after the crime was committed, he called a meeting with the prosecutor general, the minister of the interior, the head of the Security and Information Service and the head of the Center for Combating Corruption and Economic Crime. “One of the instructions given in the meeting was to immediately draft amendments to the legislation on firearms, which is very lenient, so as to formulate clearer regulations and harsher punishments for carrying guns illegally and other violations. We will learn from the experience of Romania in this respect, which is very appropriate,” said the Prime Minister.
