A motorcyclist aged 26 lost his life in a road accident that occurred on the Hancesti – Lapusna road, near Rusca village, last night.

Press officer of the National Patrolling Inspectorate Uliana Catan has told IPN that the preliminary investigations showed the young man lost control of the motorcycle because he was speeding. He changed to the counterflow lane and collided head-on with a minibus coming from the opposite direction. The impact was so powerful that the motorcyclist died on the spot.

Another serious accident on August 2 resulted in the death of a pedestrian aged 49. This was stuck by a hit-and-run driver on the Calarasi-Valcinet road. The driver was identified shortly afterward. This is a 26-year-old man who was driving under the influence and without a driver’s license.
