The government has approved the commencement of negotiations and the signing of an agreement with the Ukrainian executive that will allow Ukrainian and Moldovan citizens to travel to the territory of the other state on the basis of internal use identity documents.
Once the agreement enters into force, the citizens of the Republic of Moldova will be able to travel to Ukraine with their passport or with their identity card.
The new agreement will come into force 30 days after the conclusion of internal procedures of signatory parties. The new agreement will replace the Agreement on visa-free travel of citizens, singed in Kiev on May 18, 2011, which will cease to be valid.
