The access road to a number of villages in Straseni district continues to be blocked after it was flooded by the Byk River. The local authorities are looking for solutions so as to enable the people to use the railroad.
Contacted by IPN, Straseni district head Petru Voloshchuk said that in the afternoon the local authorities will have a meeting with representatives of the Ministry of Transport and Road Infrastructure to discuss the possibility of motor vehicles using the railroad on the flooded segment.
The flooded portion of the street is about 100 meters. In parts the level of water is over 1 meter. The water will be fully removed only in two weeks.
Petru Voloshchuk said that two ambulances provided medical assistance to villagers on the spot. The rain continues and there is a risk that the Byk will flood again.
