ACC will not disconnect those with debts from water supply during dog days

SA “Apa-Canal Chisinau” (ACC) decided to stop disconnecting the persons who have debts for water from the water supply, but will resume this practice immediately after the dog days, the company’s director Constantin Becciev announced, quoted by Info-Prim Neo. Becciev said that five apartment buildings were disconnected for a short period last week. There are buildings whose managers to not want to cooperate with the water supplier, violating thus the contractual obligations. There will be no disconnections this week as there were forecast high temperatures, but there will be used legal instruments to make the indebted consumers pay the debts. According to Constantin Becciev, the disconnection of the persons with debts and the sequestration of their property produced results. It was established that there are many consumers who have incomes, but do not pay the bills because they are irresponsible or malevolent. “The latest data show that the payments level for five months was 98%. It is a good result compared with the same period last year. The level of payments is lower in the municipal blocks. It is good that the difference in the metered volumes is paid,” stated Constantin Becciev. The water supplier is also performing inspections. It was determined that 50% of the meters aren’t sealed or were installed with violations. The ACC also cleans the drinking water reservoirs and pipes and lays water pipes on Muncesti, Columna, Creanga, Lomonosov, and other streets.
