The Chisinau water supplier Apa-Canal Chisinau has informed that the leakage that happened on Belinschi St in Buiucani district on December 5 was not caused by a burst in the water pipe, but was the result of works to test and wash the new water pipe that was constructed during several months, Info-Prim Neo reports. “The water was to flow into the sewerage system, but the hose burst owing to the high pressure and the water flooded the sidewalk. It was a technological process needed before putting the new water pipe into operation. The installed pipes and equipment are tested daily. The project cost the Chisinau City Hall about 10 million lei,” the supplier said in a press release. The ACC’s central dispatcher’s office announced that the water supply on a number of Chisinau streets on December 7, and 8 will be stopped owing to the works to connect the new water pipe.
