ACC clears debt to Union Fenosa

SA Apa-Canal Chisinau (ACC) has settled the debt of about 15 million lei to Union Fenosa due to which the inhabitants of Rascani and Ciocana districts remained without running water for several days at the start of May. The announcement was made by the ACC director Constantin Becciev at the meeting of the Chisinau City Hall on Monday, Info-Prim Neo reports. A sum of 13 million lei was paid last week after the Chisinau Municipal Council allocated the money by purchasing shares in ACC. The rest of the money was paid from the water supplier’s budget. In another development, Constantin Becciev said that 4.5 million lei will be transferred the next days to the Dutch company that will modernize the water treatment station in Chisinau. Last week, the ACC director said that if the money was transferred in due time, the works could start until August this year. Under the modernization project, the mud from the water treatment station will be put into geotubes of different sizes made from resistant textiles for dehydration. According to specialists, this way the unpleasant smell of the mud will not be felt by the people living near the station, which is rather strong in summer. But this is a temporary solution.
