The Government of Japan offers a grant of almost US$ 76,000 for improving the process of learning the Japanese language at the Foundation for Moldovan-Japanese Relations. The financing is provided in the framework of the “Kusanone” Grant Assistance Program. The ceremony for signing the contract for the provision of non-reimbursable financial assistance was held on February 5, IPN reports.
Through the agency of this grant, the Foundation for Moldovan-Japanese Relations will purchase modern equipment for studying the Japanese culture and language. The equipment will include computers for the linguistic lab Sanako Study, interactive board, printer, a digital camera, furniture for the classroom and library. Works will be performed to improve the ventilation and heating systems in the Foundation’s classrooms.
In the ceremony, Japan’s Ambassador to Moldova Yoshii Masanobu said that through this program, Japan aims to improve the quality of life of Moldovans. During his stay of three years and a half in Moldova, within the “Kusanone” Program he signed 27 contracts for the outfitting and repair of hospitals, schools, kindergartens and cultural institutions in Moldova.
Valeriu Bînzaru, who manages the Foundation for Moldovan-Japanese Relations, said the modern equipment is a necessity for the Foundation so as to improve the quality of studies and the pass rate in international exams.
The Foundation for Moldovan-Japanese Relations was founded in 2002. More than 100 persons are now studying Japanese here.
The “Kusanone” Program was launched in Moldova in 2008. Over 60 projects, mainly in public health and education, were financed meanwhile with Japanese grants totaling over US$5.3 million.
