Only one third of the persons who received compensations for heat last year submitted applications, asking to be paid such allowances this heating season as well. The deadline for applications is October 15. The compensations are given to residents of the municipality of Chisinau who earn less than 1,450 lei a month, Info-Prim Neo reports. According to the head of the Public Amenities Division Petru Gontea, the employees of the housing stock managing companies so far have collected about 8,000 applications, 500 of which from new applicants. Since October 2008, the Chisinau Municipal Council have paid 40% of the heating bill for families in need.
