About seventy playgrounds have been repaired in Chisinau to date. The Housing and Amenities Directorate (DGLCA) told IPN that the works are part of a special municipal program that aims to set up, expand and repair playgrounds located within courtyards of residential blocks and in public spaces.

DGLCA department head Vasile Efros said that seesaw swings were replaced at courtyard playgrounds, seats were installed to the swings where they were missing, damaged slides and tubes were repaired, and gravel was added as needed.

Efros recalled that the playground repair effort was initiated in the spring. DGLCA intervenes operatively where there are critical situations. In most cases, one or two damaged elements on the playground are replaced.

Last week, repair work was carried out on playground elements at addresses on the streets Petru Zadnipru, Calea Orheiului and Vasile Lupu.
