Approximately 7 kilometers of basic sewerage networks in Chisinau will be modernized. SA “Apa-Canal Chisinau” (ACC) on December 19 signed a contract to this effect with Comalion LCA, which won the international tender contest held this March, IPN reports.
According to ACC, the contract envisions the modernization of 13 network sections in urban areas and water mains in the central part of Chisinau municipality. The pipes have a diameter of 110 mm to 500 mm and a total length of about 7 km.
Under the signed contract, the supplier will ensure the fulfillment of the contractual obligations within 540 days. “Apa-Canal Chisinau” director general Veronica Herta said the project is not at all easy, but can be implemented. “We hope to cooperate successfully so as to create fewer inconveniences to end-users,” she stated.
Head of Comalion LCA Ivan Negara thanked the water supplier for the offered confidence. “We thank a lot for the trust put in us. We know it is not an easy project, but we will cope with all challenges owing to team work,” he stated.
The contract was signed as part of the program to develop water supply and sewerage services in Chisinau municipality that is financed with funds from the European Investment Bank, the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development and EU’s Neighborhood Investment Facility.
