Approximately 130,000 Ukrainians entered the Republic of Moldova so far and 65,000 of them stopped in Moldova. There are now 78 temporary placement centers for refugees in Moldova. The process of identifying and outfitting other areas continues, the head of the Unified Crisis Management Center Dumitru Udrea told a news conference.
To date, there were identified 25,000 accommodation places. Another 25,000 potential accommodation places can be equipped, if necessary. Refugees are being transported by 20 buses that have a total seating capacity of 1,000. Another ten buses will be involved in the transportation process if need be, stated Dumitru Udrea.
As to the social media reports that incite hatred, Dumitru Udrea said it is important that the citizens remain solidary and united. “Tens of thousands of citizens who flee from war come daily from Ukraine to Moldova. The total figure of refugees rose to over 130,000 people. These are women, men, children, older persons and young people who left their homes and what they earned throughout the lifetime, taking only a bag with them. These people need our assistance, of the Government and the local public authorities, of the police, doctors and rescuers,” stated Dumitru Udrea, urging the people not to allow to be manipulated and provoked by instigators.
