Approximately 600 proposals were submitted for the contest “Best slogan for Moldova‘s tourism sector” announced by the Tourism Agency. All the proposals were posted on the institution’s website. If the winner is chosen, he/she will be announced during the international ethno music festival “Gustar” that will take place in Orheiul Vechi on August 24-25. Otherwise, the deadline of the contest will be extended until September 27, when it is marked the International Tourism Day, IPN reports.
Most of the proposed slogans are in English and have the words ‘mamaliga’ (maize porridge), wine and soil as key words. For example: “Moldova, enjoy the secret of MaMaliga!”; “Small country with a big heart” ; “Traditions say it all”; “Wine is not the only reason”; “Hop-hop-hop sha sha sha this is our Moldova!”. Among those who sent proposals to the Tourism Agency are people from other countries, including Italy, the U.S., and Romania.
The best slogan will accompany Moldova’s tourism logo at exhibitions and other events abroad. The winner will benefit from a dinner for two at a luxury hotel in Chisinau.
