About 4,500 Ecstasy pills seized in Chisinau
Employees of the Customs Service have seized a large batch of Ecstasy pills in Chisinau, Info-Prim Neo reports.
The traffickers started to be followed this July. During investigations, it was established that the drugs were purchased in Amsterdam and then transported to Brussels, where they were packaged in washing powder packs and sent to Chisinau. In Moldova, the drugs were repacked in wine Tetra Paks and taken to Moscow, from where they were conveyed to Yaroslavl.
An operation was planned in order to catch the persons involved. Two Moldovan customs officers went to Russia as couriers, while officers of Russia's Federal Security Service performed the operation and caught the person who ordered the drugs. Belgium's antidrug squad carried out investigations in parallel.
The 4,464 Ecstasy pills seized in Chisinau will remain at the corpus delicti store of the Customs Service until the court decides what do do with them.
