Approximately 450 workplace accidents happen annually in the Republic of Moldova. About 50 of these are serious accidents, while 35-40 end in death. This year’s theme set by the International Labor Organization is “OSH vulnerability of young workers”. On this day, society and all the authorities focus on the importance of improving occupational safety and health for young workers by promoting safe and healthy jobs and by developing a workplace accident prevention culture. Another goal is to fight all forms of child labor, especially the physically harmful ones.
“When safe conditions are created at work, a maximum output is achieved in the professional activity,” said Secretary of State at the Ministry of Health, Labor and Social Protection Anastasia Ocheretnyi.
